Link with other business processes

The BPEL4WS compatible workflow core of Contiki and the web-service-based ECM functionality enables a new level of integration between enterprise applications. The practical consequence of this is that any function in any web-service-based enterprise application (ERP, SRM, Document Management) can be used at any stage of a Contiki Workflow. Likewise, any Contiki function can be used at any stage in a workflow in other BPEL compatible applications.

This means that Contiki is among the first applications to fully embrace the concept of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Contiki ECM also has a direct link between process data, kept in the repository, and associated documents. It communicates with the client's other systems to extract data that is relevant to monitoring contracts (budget, invoiced amounts, etc.) thereby avoiding unnecessary duplication of data – which in turn can be transferred to any document.
Contiki ECM alerts the user to deadlines, milestones, etc. Such reminders can also be dispatched via e-mail to persons who may not have user access to the system, and can also be used to notify external entities informing them of the completion of specific duties.
